USHA WALL

FOUNDER OF ETERNAL HOPE NEPAL

+ DR. USHA WALL AND ETERNAL HOPE NEPAL +

Dr. Usha Maharjan Wall gave up her job as a doctor and hospital administrator to found and support Eternal Hope Nepal. With the assistance of charity-minded friends, family, savings, and the generous contributions of others, Usha devotes her full energy to Eternal Hope Nepal.

EHN works with the poorest of the poor. Known as the Dalit class or "untouchables", these children living in the slums of Chitwan, Nepal, are bright, beautiful and full of positivity. They can see the value of education as the way to break out of poverty, but many are not given the opportunity. Most pick through garbage, selling whatever they can find and are locked into a life of poverty. Poor, hungry and uneducated, they are easy prey for traffickers and abusers. Eternal Hope Nepal works with these families to help parents make the sacrifices necessary to keep children inside the EHN sponsored school program and off the streets.

EHN Academy teachers are strong advocates for the children when they enter the education system. Uniforms, resources, mentoring, as well as health and nutritional supplementation are provided by EHN.

+ ETERNAL HOPE NEPAL AND benchmark +

In creating the concept for Benchmark, thoughts on our service menu prompted a deeper perspective on what our business could do beyond the confines of the barbershop. Barbering is already a socially-minded business, so including humanitarian aid into our business model was a means to extend our services outside the shop. Of course it is our clients who really make that contribution. Every haircut, beard trim and shave helps make a difference.

World Link Partners facilitates our donations to EHN. Every month, Benchmark gives 1% of all barber services and 100% of the revenue from Nepalese Necklaces to support EHN. These monthly contributions aid education, school supplies and nutrition programs to Dalit Caste children living in the slums in Chitwan, Nepal. We are grateful to our clients for their continued support of our shop.
